Below you’ll find an updated calendar with upcoming due dates and assessments.

Monday (12.14)

Math:  Most students have completed the assignment due for Monday but they should have completed 2.1 in their textbook.

Tuesday (12.15)

Read/ Write/ Social Studies: Read 20 minutes, Write 10 minutes, Picture Book Vision Plan/ Draft #1 (on the way)

Math:  E-57 and 3.2 (include diagrams showing direction and magnitude for each problem)

Wednesday (12.16)

Read/ Write/ Social Studies: Read 20 minutes, Write 10 minutes

Math:  Students completed 3.2 in class and should finish #2-10 on page 47.  #1 is optional on page 46.

Thursday (12.17)

Read/ Write/ Social Studies: Read 20 minutes, Write 10 minutes,  F.I.R.E. Day (Social Studies)

Math:  Students are continuing to practice their fluency with subtraction of integers. W.S. E-61 should be completed for Thursday and although 3.6 is not due until Friday, it would benefit students to get some of it done tonight.

Friday (12.18)

Read/ Write/ Social Studies: Read 20 minutes, Write 10 minutes,  Picture Book (Final Draft) turn in the entire writing process, STUDENTS THAT ARE FILLING THEIR READING AND WRITING NOTEBOOKS WILL NEED TWO NEW COMP BOOKS WHEN THEY RETURN FROM BREAK. 

Math:  Students started working with some algebraic terms today applying their new knowledge of positives and negatives. 3.6 and 3.7 are due on Friday.

Math:  Students had a choice of assignments to help them prepare for Tuesday’s Fraction Operations quiz. Either C-44 and C-46 (white) to practiced adding and subtracting mixed numbers of students that are already fluent could choose 64 and 69 (purple) to practice problem solving.

Thursday (12.10)

Math:  We’ve officially started our “Integers” unit as we discussed the terms “absolute value” and “opposite” today. Students should have notes and examples that they can refer to down the road. Due on Thursday is #8-20 on a white handout they received today. Drawing a number line should help on just about any problem they need to attempt tonight.

Math:  We worked on drawing pictures to represent change in class today. Students need to complete 1.2 & Follow-up as well as 1.3 in their new text books.

Math:  White similarity worksheet and multiplication of fractions practice, student could choose level of difficulty:  White Worksheet or Gold Worksheet (Gold is a bit more complex).

Math:  Students have a second chance at a similarity quiz on Thursday. They have a purple worksheet that is due on Wednesday that should cover most of the concepts on the quiz.

Math: Students should complete the blue worksheet they received Friday. The skills they are practicing are “distributive property” (2.2) and simplifying expressions (2.3).

Wednesday (10.21)

Math: Students are working on “writing two-step equations”. We worked on some more complex problems in class (white worksheet) but students need to complete a yellow half-sheet (simpler problems) by Wednesday.

Thursday (10.22)

Math: Students are working on “writing two-step equations”. Their homework is to work on one more problem from the white worksheet that they were working on in class today.

Friday (10.23)

Math: Quiz in class on Friday. Students will have a 2nd opportunity to demonstrate their skill level with “Evaluating Expressions”. They will have their first chance at “writing and solving two-step equations”. Students should use their prior quiz as a resource to prepare for the “Evaluating Expressions” section. Also, studenets have problem one to complete from a white half-sheet sheet given to them today.

Math: Students worked on “constructing stem and leaf plots” in class on Thursday. They had a choice of assignments. They could choose the white worksheet (basic data sets and single stem and leaf plots) or a yellow worksheet (more complex data sets along with double stem and leaf plots).
